Dear Rotarians,

During the past couple of weeks several disasters have - again- struck areas in particular in SE Asia... Indonesia and the Phillippines. I am sure you all have seen the pictures and read the stories.... Now is the time to DO something and put "our money where our mouth" is as Rotarains.

I have received several requests from both the Phillippines and Indonesia, directly and via Fred Hahn, our zone's director, to help out in any which way we can.

I urge you to announce in your clubs that we are accepting donations to help out in Indonesia by providing shelterboxes and in the Phillippines by providing weater purification equipment. My intent is to raise $50,000 in our district to help our friends in the areas most severely hit by the earthquakes and floods. That amounts to $ 15 per member in our district. I see no reason why we could not accomplish this and more....!!! Please help out and help out now !!! This is the time that Rotary indeed can make a difference and that we can show we care.

Checks can be send to our district treasurer, John Applegate, 3741 Lansdowne Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45236. Please indicate "disaster relief fund" on your check.

Thank you for your hlep

Yours in Rotary Service.

Hans
