Centerville Rotary Meeting Highlights

Frank Perez welcomed everyone to the first hybrid meeting of the Centerville Rotary Club - Rotary 2.1 combo in-person and Zoom meeting. It is great to take another step forward in meeting. Several Rotarians joined together in person, wearing masks and having their temperature taken at the door.

President Frank also welcomed those Rotarians joining the meeting via Zoom. He encouraged them to use the chat feature to share questions.

John Callander led the Pledge of Allegiance, Dick Hoback led us in a prayer, and Frank Perez led the 4-Way Test.

President Frank Perez shared these updates:

  • Jeff Senney was recently recognized as one of the best attorneys in America. An article appeared in the Dayton Daily News today. Everyone congratulated Jeff.
  • Sivaji Subramaniam gave an update on Kitty Ullmer: She is in good hands at her brother’s house. She’s tired and may not be able to take a call, but greatly appreciates our thoughts and prayers.
  • We need a 4th person to round out the Centerville Rotary golf team to play in the Springboro Rotary golf outing next Friday at Heatherwood Golf Course. Not only will it be a fun golf outing, but will also give us insight into running our own golf tournament in the spring. Let Frank know if you would like to play.

Happy Bucks-
Our Happy Dollars for this quarter are going to Project Warm – please be generous with your Happy Dollars for this good cause. You can send your check to the club mailbox:  Centerville Rotary Club, PO Box 41431, Centerville, OH 45458.

Frank noted that so far, we have collected $2,528 in Happy Bucks this quarter.

  • Chuck King ($69) gave in celebration of his 69th birthday.
  • Mike Weir ($20) is happy to be at the live Rotary meeting.
  • Lee Hieronymus ($60) has been absent because he doesn’t do Zoom meetings, but is happy to see everyone in person this week.
  • Ron Hollenbeck ($20) reported his dog has recovered from the hot spot on his tail and his wife has calmed back down. He also noted he attended the Northmont Club last week, and met someone named Dale who used to teach with Don Overly.
  • Jeff Senney ($20) is happy his grandkids were in town, and they got to do a lot of fun things together like fishing and kayaking.
  • Don Stewart ($20) congratulated Jeff Senney and is celebrating the Cleveland Browns returning to play this weekend.
  • Dick Hoback ($20) is happy to be back to meeting in person.
  • Elda Gotos Gay ($80) gave a coat for each of her 4 grandkids.
  • Arnie Biondo ($20) was not able to meet in person today because his son tested positive for COVID, so he is now quarantined for 2 weeks.
  • Sofie Ameloot ($20) is not here in person because she is under the weather - not COVID related.
  • Terry Hanauer ($20) is happy the kids are back in school.
