President Chuck King thanked our official greeter and helper.
President King announced the winners of the 4-Way Test Contest. Three Alter High School students took the prizes. First place went to Anna Sweeney, with the topic Mental Health; Second place was a tie with India Murphy on Expelled for Hair Braids, and Anna Brown, on Gossip. The First place winner gets $100 and goes on to the final contest, while the two second place winners will each get $75 from our club, he said.
The Paul Harris pins originally scheduled to be presented at our Christmas dinner were handed out with the help of Harvey Smith and Frank Scott, currently our Rotary Foundation chair, who presided at our meeting today in Joyce Young's absence.
The Senneys will be hosting an event at Zinks, Tuesday March 31st from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. featuring guest speaker Andra Watkins, a best-selling author and motivational speaker, who spoke to the club August, 2018. If interested, RSVP Jeff at jsenneny@pselaw.com.
President Chuck King thanked the Senneys for hosting this month's social at their home Feb. 26. He said about 10 people attended and that if you weren't there you missed a good time and the Senneys' fine wine.
President King noted earlier that Frank Scott has been chosen to be District Governor for the year 2022 to 2023.
President King said Service Days will be in late April and include Hannah's Treasure Chest, the Food Bank, Project Read, and Shoes for the shoe-less.
Ron Hollenbeck was absent as last week he said he would be going with Greg Bixler to Florida this week to meet with and hopefully partner with clubs there to do more projects in Africa to provide clean and fresh water.
President King said the District Conference will be April 23-25 in Wilmington,OH. The project on the 25th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. will be supporting "Sleep in Heavenly Peace," a project building beds for children who don't have any. Mike Watkins from Butler County was our guest speaker Dec. 5. They are hoping for 150 people to participate. Our board approved donating $500 to help fund materials.
District grant requests are due at the end of April. Operation Warm, Dictionaries and Thesauri, are on the agenda and possibly Caring cradle/cuddle cot.
Closing reports for Operation Warm showed we supplied 534 coats, and received $2,500 from the district to help with our purchase.
We got a $1,700 district grant that helped us buy and distribute 864 Thesauri and 792 Dictionaries.
He said there might be a chance to ask for a grant for a cooling bed as Doc Herman used for their still born child so they could be with it for a few days instead of just hours.
President King said Susan Schnell has taken the lead for RYLA for the club. In Mark Febus's absence, Sofie Ameloot contacted Liz Cameron at CHS and Interact students were sent the information and forms required. Sofie, Susan, and Mark will meet the Interact club next week. The deadline for students to submit applications is March 13. Three students will be chosen and there is a March 25 deadline for those selected to submit completed
health forms and release of liability forms.
President King said new members Dawayne Kirkman, Jill Reid, and Bill Menker are expected to be inducted next week.

Happy Bucks this quarter go for our local chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.
Frank Scott gave for being invited to the meeting and President King gave for Frank and Harvey Smith and the Paul Harris Fellows. Mark Balsan said he was Happy and Brad Huffman said he was happy to be here because he had been busy with his kids hockey and baseball, but that he plans to head to Hawaii to celebrate. "Old" Brad as he was distinguished from "young" Brad, said he plans to head to the islands mentioning St. Kitts....for a couple of weeks. Susan Schnell gave mentioning she recently got her wish to go into Social Work in the fall. Sofie said he was Happy as her daughter reached her goal of $1,000 for school. Not to be outdone, Dale Berry said he was going to Miamisburg, which got a big laugh, and then he said something about going to Hilton Head. Jill Reid said the Washington Twp. Rec Center will be hosting a Bollywood event, a fund-raiser for the Garg family that has kept their daughter's memory alive by allowing them to help establish local parks in her spirit, showing a love for music and dance and the beauty of the outdoors.
Jim Harris gave to thank Jeff Senney for last night's social. Boyd gave to recognize the new members in the Rotary Foundatiion. Jim Briggs gave, noting his wife had been dealing with cancer since October, but has now learned that it is gone. He urged women to get regular mammograms so they have early warnings that can help out.
Elda Gotos Gay gave for being Happy and Carol Kennard gave for being healthy and Ann Blackburn's donation was made in honor of her dad passing from dementia. Sadly, Carol's husband John, who had gone to the hospital and eaten dinner with his sister, got a call later last night saying she had gone into cardiac arrest and could not be saved.
Our prayers go out for the Kennard family. Lee Hieronymus gave a Sad dollar for the passing of his special lady Bev's nephew at age 29. Alcoholism takes its toll, he said. Don Stewart mentioned a boat and Jana gave and Jeff Senney gave, and Deb said she was glad to be back and Adam Manning said he was Happy to be here.

Along with the Rotary Club members, Irene Ullmer was awarded her Paul Harris plus 6 pin, but refused to get in the group picture. Here she is below:
Frank Scott said the Foundation has new plans to increase its reach. He said in 2018 it had $393 million and $380 million was the goal. He said they would like to see $2.025 billion. He mentioned the youth exchange program, Interact and Rotaract, all involved in local programs.
He said over the last five years our club has donated $85,000 to the Rotary International Foundation. He praised the fact that we have had a 20 percent growth in membership. He said our Centerville Club is always one of the top five in giving per capita in the club.
Frank said this year the district funds have $51,000 in grant money to give out. Typically they have 28 out of 48 clubs asking for grant money, he said.
He said our club gives $277 per capita whereas overall in the district the rate is just $37.
Members had to go through the club's restaurant to get to our meeting room, because the lobby was being repainted, and next week they will be redoing the lobby floor, so President King said he did not know how we will get to the big room if indeed we are there. Members had to enter the building through the Academy golf entrance at the side of the building.
