Harvey's on the left, Dale on the right and in between is Rick (left) and Terry (right)
Jeff Senney arrives with his guest, Suzanne Summers.
Sofie Ameloot is greeted by the group of four.
It's a busy day for all and cold and blustery outside, but Rick and Terry make it all seem warm
and cheerful inside. As did Harvey.
It's steak this day and baked potatoes and pumpkin and lemon pie and other choices too.
You see Don Overy (L) and Susan Schnell fourth from left, in this picture below.
Susan has agreed to look into taking the RYLA position left vacant by John Beals passing.
It's a leadership two-day program held at Camp Kern and our club usually pays for two
local students to attend. The school helps find the students who would most benefit from
this program. Students who have attended usually come back with loads of new friends and
ideas. They come to Rotary and tell us about their experiences.
Everyone is well into the meal now.
Bill Menker was made a new member last week.
Mike Norton-Smith, Centerville's Economic Development Administrator,
who is the guest of Wayne Davis, said he is a potential club member. We hope so.
And from the looks of things here, it's about time to go home after the speeches, as this
shows the end of the meeting.
The Centerville Rotary Club met at Yankee Trace at noon for the weekly meeting. President Chuck King led the Pledge of Allegiance. Vice President Brian Hayes gave the prayer, and the singing of My Country Tis of Thee was led by Brad Thorp.
Irene Ullmer couldn't quit singing it and was interrupting those trying to give their 4-Way Test Contest speeches, so we were asked to leave the room after the first speech was given. At 96, one has a mind of her own. Anyway, we weren't the judges, so the speeches went on without disruption.
Guests this week: Suzanne Summers, guest of Jeff Senney, Mike Norton-Smith, guest of Wayne Davis.
Menu this week: NY Strip, baked potato with sour cream, broccoli.
Menu next week: Chicken Alfredo and garlic rolls
President Chuck King presided over the meeting.
