President Anderson had a few announcements:
Thank you to Lee and everyone that joined him on the fire truck at the Americana Parade and to our volunteers that braved the heat to staff the Centerville Rotary booth at the Americana Festival. They handed out approximately 1,000 water bottles by 1:30 pm!
Coffee club met on Tuesday. It was a small but dedicated group. Next meeting is August 4th.
Gina Smith visited the Beulah, Michigan Rotary club. They were fielding a big fundraiser in early July for supporting Rotary’s polio eradication effort.
Rotary Women Connect is meeting on July 16th at 5:30 pm at Chappy’s.

Happy Bucks- Quarterly charitable recipient will be identified at the upcoming Board meeting.

Boyd P.- happy for our guests and potential new members

Ashley Campbell- for the successful Americana Festival. Her organization had 20 characters participating. Also, for the Fairy Godmother Foundation that sends characters into local hospitals to support children in for care.
Mark F. – had a great and fun cruise vacation with 14 family members.
Jeff S.- had a wonderful 4th of July week with family visiting. Included time at Kings Island and kayaking.
Rand O.- Happy to be back. Time away included hiking 55 miles of the Appalachian Trail.
Brad H.- happy that last week he was on vacation with the family in Hawaii and for his 2 guests. July 4th was his anniversary.
Carol K.- happy her hand surgery went well and grateful for excellent care she was receiving from John.
Wyatt T.- for being late to meeting
Sofie A.- had fun at a party hosted by another club’s president and that Marie-Thérèse is on her way home for a visit. Was also happy Belgium won their recent soccer match against the U.S..
Adam M.- Happy for another successful Americana event with 100+K in attendance and for our guests.
Ron H.- Glad Carol’s surgery went well.
Dave T.- happy that his granddaughter and grandson were finishing their Boundary Waters canoe trip successfully.
Socks- President Anderson established the goal for club members to donate at least $1,000 to Polio Plus. To kick off, he donated $100 and asked other interested club members to consider doing same.
Lee H.- his farm report was abbreviated this week and focused on his recent experience working his own farm. He found a new interpretation for the saying “he fell off the wagon” by literally, falling off his hay wagon and ended up getting 3 staples in his head at the hospital. He is recovering well now.
Chuck K.- happy for our guests and is enjoying the warm weather.
Harvey S.- Elda is feeling better and hoping to be back at Rotary next week. She recently started allergy shots that are beginning to help her.
Mark K.- glad Americana went well and enjoyed his experience on the fire truck in the parade. But sad U.S. soccer lost.
Uriah A.- happy for his 10th year anniversary and for everyone’s help at Americana. He also pledged $100 to Polio Plus with Socks.

The Fairborn Rotary and Jordan, Ink., host the event to raise money for outbound youth exchange students. This year, Isa Wright,he daughter of our former member Sherre, was awarded a $2000 scholarship. That pretty much covers the round trip air fair.
