Maternal and Child Health.

Thanks to Ron Hollenbeck and Gina Smith for filling in as this week's bulletin editors!

President Uriah Anderson welcomed everyone to the Centerville Rotary Club and led reciting the Pledge of Allegiance. Brian Hayes provided the prayer. As this was the first meeting of the month, the Club sang “God Bless America”.

July Theme: Maternal and Child Health Month: Focus is to reduce maternal and child mortality by expanding access to essential medical care, supplying immunizations, and empowering local communities with sustainable healthcare training.

Our program today was President Anderson sharing his thoughts for the 2026-27 Rotary Year.

Uriah thanked the members of the club and looks forward to serving as club President. He thanked Adam Manning for his efforts and guidance during the past Rotary year.

Uriah said to make his year as President a great one, he needs everyone's help. He asked all members to put "Service above Self" by supporting club projects, recruiting your friends, and supporting the Rotary Foundation.

Uriah noted that the new Rotary International President's slogan is "Create Lasting Impact".
He said he wants to set goals that create impactful projects. Uriah noted Centerville Rotary did a great job at that and used "Operation Warm" as an example. If you have an idea for a project, please speak up.

Uriah then reviewed the 2026-27 club goals.  Our club does an excellent job of both setting goals and meeting them.  13 clubs in the District don't set any goals. Uriah kept many of the goals the same as the previous year.

One goal Uriah added was related to "Polio Plus".  The goal is to have an aggregate contribution from all members that totals $1000.00.

Uriah ended his presentation by reiterating that he needs everyone's support to make the 2026-2027 Rotary year a big success. Please volunteer where you can and let him know if you are interested in joining the Centerville Rotary Board of Directors.

President Anderson led the group in reciting the 4 Way Test and wished everyone a good week.

FROM ARNIE BIONDO:

Hey, you avid golfers.  Here is a cool (in more than one way) opportunity for golf. See attached.

The Fairborn Rotary and Jordan, Ink., host the event to raise money for outbound youth exchange students.  This year, Isa Wright,he daughter of our former member Sherre, was awarded a $2000 scholarship.  That pretty much covers the round trip air fair.

So, if you would like some golf without sweating your brains out, sign up and help an area kid go on exchange next year.

Winners get $200 each!
