Centerville Rotary members asked friends and relatives all over the world to vote for the video in order to garner the most votes for the Food 4 Summer program. The show of support won $1000 to buy all the milk for the program during school vacation.

Jeanne Costales, Coordinator of Food 2 Go and Food 4 Summer, says Centerville Rotary created a “tsunami of volunteers” last January with their donation to Food 2 Go. On May 12, Centerville Rotary made another donation of $1000 to Food 4 Summer which they won in a video voting contest organized by Rotary District 6670 in April for eight Rotary Clubs in the District. Volunteers led by Erich Eggers and James Reynolds created and posted a five minute video describing the Food 2 Go program organized by six local churches to put packets of food every weekend in needy Centerville School children's backpacks to take home. Rotary promotes the extension of Food 2 Go into Food 4 Summer to provide food through the summer.

Participating churches in Food 4 Summer are Centerville Community, Centerville United Methodist, Faith Community at St. Leonard's. Living Hope Lutheran, Normandy United Methodist, and Southminster Presbyterian. Please go on the website for more information, 4cumc.org.
