News Death Notice

SHELEY, Jacque R. 78 years old, died April 18th 2009. Mr. Sheley was born in Hamilton, Ohio on October 4th, 1930. He has resided in Centerville, Ohio since 1963. He was a member of the Normandy United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Miami University and served during the Korean War in the United States Marine Corp. He began his career in Association Management as an Assistant Director of the Home Builders Association of Greater Cincinnati in 1959. In 1963 he became the Executive Director of the Home Builders Association of Dayton and the Miami Valley and served as President of the Dayton Society of Association Executives in 1972 and as President of the National Association of Home Builders Executive Officers Council in 1976. In 1990 he retired as Executive Director of the HBA of Dayton and the Miami Valley. He was designated a Life Member of the Association and its Board of Directors. He was also a Life Director of the National Association of Home Builders. Jacque was a 32nd degree mason and long standing member of the Dayton Agonis Club and the Centerville Rotary. Once retired, he worked at the driving range at Yankee Trace and was a seasonal parking lot attendant and greeter at Esther Price in Centerville. Jacque was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Martha Ann (Kraus) Sheley and is survived by his daughter, Lisa Ann Sheley Nordloh (Lee) of Terrace Park Ohio, Son John R. Sheley (Ashley) and treasured grandchildren Jacob and Emma of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Sister Jane C. Harding of Fairfield Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held at the Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 Alex-Bell Road on Friday April 24th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Normandy United Methodist Church or to the Jacque R. Sheley Scholarship Fund at Sinclair Community College 444 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402-1460.
