Voting will be conducted on the video contest website beginning March 14, 2011, and ending at 11:30 p.m. on April 1, 2011.
The video contest site is located at:
Winners will be announced at the Rotary International District 6670 annual District Conference on April 9, 2011 at the Northeast Cincinnati Marriott Hotel in Mason, Ohio.
How votes will be counted:The number of votes cast online will be weighted to account for differences in membership of Rotary Clubs in District 6670 in southwest Ohio.
Members of Rotary Clubs in District 6670 are encouraged to invite family members, friends, neighbors and business partners to vote for their club’s video. Clubs may use all public relations and advertising methods (Facebook fan invitations, Facebook friend invitations, email, direct mail, printed materials, ads in local media, personal invitations and requests) to encourage voting for their videos.
Voters may cast one vote per day on the video contest website.
Votes can only be cast on the video contest website.
Votes cast online are automatically recorded but not displayed on the contest website while voting is being conducted. Vote totals will be displayed when the voting period ends.
To account for differences in membership in Rotary Club and population in their local communities, the raw vote totals will be adjusted using the following method:
Divide the total number of votes for the video by the number of members in the club and then multiply by 100.
For example:
• Club size is 62 members and 93 votes are cast = 150
• Club size is 15 members and 23 votes are cast = 153
In the example, the smaller club would win. The weighting method accounts for differences in club and population size and also rewards clubs whose members turn out the vote.
In the event a tie occurs in the voting, the date and time the videos were uploaded to the contest website will be used to determine contest winners.
The District Governor and the District Public Relations Committee will oversee the voting results. The District Governor will review the voting results and resolve any disputes about the results.
By entering the video contest, Rotary Clubs in District 6670 agree that the District Governor shall have the authority to make final decisions about how the video contest, voting, and vote counting will be conducted.
Participating Rotary Clubs agree to abide by all of the contest rules. By entering a video in the contest, Rotary Clubs confirm that they have obtained permission to use the images, sounds and information of individuals and groups depicted in their videos.
Remember to vote every day through April 1 to help us help our community!
